Happy New Year!

I phoned the boys on Christmas day as they were opening their Christmas gifts of football kits and they were soooo happy! One of the boys said ''This is the best Christmas ever, I wish every day could be like this!'' They were so grateful to us all for giving them football kits for Christmas. I can't tell you how much they love football! They have been training every evening and playing a match every weekend in their worn down clothes so they were veeerrryy excited to have a kit which they can wear proudly!

2013 has already had a great start for Mydel as we have a good handful of new sponsors coming on board to support the boys through education. It's been a dream come true to be able to secure every boy in school so thank you, thank you, thank you!

I want to crank up the fundraising this year to either buy a new home or buy some land to build on. I was intending on setting up a small business for those boys who are finishing school to work on. Unfortunately, it has become very unstable in the city at the moment as the government are making a lot of changes which disrupts small businesses and areas of the slums, so we are going to hang fire on that and wait until the time is right.

My main aim for 2013 is to find a better place for the boys to stay.
