Tough Mudder Completed

THANK YOU to Matt and Jamie for running Tough Mudder for The Mydel Boys Home!

The event took place on Saturday 21st September:

We woke up at the ridiculous time of 5.45am to drive to Wales as the boys were registered in the 8.20am wave. This meant that the course was a lot quieter and they didn't have the heat of the sun to contend with.

I went along to support and was massively impressed by the whole event - it had a buzzing atmosphere and began fully charged with testosterone as the sea of macho went to their knees to declare a vow to never give up and always look after their team mate.

The course was far tougher than we thought. It was 12 miles of mountainous terrain, with 16 muddy challenges to conquer, each with terrifying names;

The Kiss of Mud: Crawling under barbed wire in a pit full of mud

Glory Blades: Jumping over walls which are slanted towards you

Arctic Enema: Jumping in a skip full of thick icy water.

Trench Warfare: Crawling through dark and muddy tunnels

Mud Mile: Running through a mile of thick mud

Hero and Log carrying: Carrying your partner in a fireman's lift and carrying heavy logs.

Cage Crawl: Pulling yourself through a cage, with only your eyes and nose out of the muddy water

Berlin Walls: Using all your strength to pull yourself over a 10ft wall

Walk The Plank: Jumping off a high board into a tank of muddy water.

Everest: Running up a half pipe and pulling yourself up

Electroshock therapy: Running through wires charged with electricity

For more information on the obstacles, check out http://toughmudder.co.uk/obstacles/

The course was far tougher than we thought it would be!

All the training definitely paid off because they completed the whole course in 2 hours 20 mins! The average time is 3 hours so they smashed it! Well done boys!

They are battered and bruised and struggled to walk the next day.

Please make all their pain and hard work worth it by donating. All the money will be put towards the fund for buying 5 acres of land in Uganda, to expand the orphanage.

I will update you soon on how much we raise!

Thank you :) xxx
